ChatCarton is a Chrome extension that exports the conversation open in the current Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT tab into a file on your device.
Data processing
Data processing happens entirely in your browser. The developer does not collect, receive, store, sell or share any chat content, personal data, account identifiers, browsing history or usage analytics. There is no ChatCarton server.
Permissions
- storage: one on-device preference: show/hide the on-page Export button; a temporary copy of the conversation in session storage only until the print/PDF page renders it.
- scripting: injects the extension's own bundled script into the active supported chat tab when you open the popup.
- Host access: limited to claude.ai, gemini.google.com, chatgpt.com.
No remote code
All code ships inside the extension.

The website uses no cookies or analytics. If an email waitlist is added later, this policy will be updated before any email address is collected.
